What is a Creative?

Well, what is it?

I would say a Creative was a person who went out into the world and made the best of what they have, and turn it into something extrodinary. Whether that be a pen and notebook from Wilkinsons, or cheap art supplies from The Works,

The online Dictionary,  Dictionary.com defines creative as:

cre·a·tive

[kree-ey-tiv]

adjective
1. having the quality or power of creating.
2. resulting from originality of thought, expression, etc.; imaginative: creative writing.
3. originative; productive (usually followed by of ).
4. Facetious. using or creating exaggerated or skewed data, information, etc.: creative bookkeeping.

I think in the end, a word is what you make of it, and what you make of the person you assign it to.
I hope that I am a Creative; that I can change the world through the art of words and the strength of an image or a painting, but maybe that's just my opinion...

It's been a while.... UPDATE

As some of you might have noticed, I study Creative and Professional Writing at Canterbury Christ Church University, (University Centre Folkestone).

This week has been particularly fun as we have been writing our own website; containing mag/news agendas, and basing the style on the BBC news website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/

I will add a link later on to the website we have set up, as its currently going through the design team!

It's been so fun writing a travel article that I might give it another go! Mine is about travelling from Folkestone, to London, and back again, as well as the chaos in between.

The lecturers have been fantastic this week, and it's been great to work with a varied group of people, with such different styles, skills and mind sets.

tomorrow is the last day, where we add some finishing touches, sprinkle a little bit of pixie dust, and then go to the pub, however today was the best so far because we were editing our pieces, and reading everyone elses, as well as writing our short bio's to accompany our images and web links.

I'm a bit stuck on mine: everyone's is comedic, but mine just sounds boring:

Melissa Holden, CCCU Creative and Professional Writing (BA Hons), currently writing her first novel: "Emelinne".

Anyway, that's all from me for now! I'll keep you posted on my steep climb to vague success!

PS: I'm on Chapter Four of "Emelinne"
